NICE – the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, which advises the NHS on use of medicines – is expecting to approve Mounjaro (also known as Tirzepatide) for some patients from 23rd June 2025. At present GP surgeries have not been informed as to how exactly this will work, who the providers will be, or what the criteria for this will be.
A weight-loss service using ‘Mounjaro’ is being planned by NHS organisations – but please note that further details are still to be confirmed.
