Cervical screening

We believe it is good medical practice for all women to have routine cervical smears every three years. Women will normally receive invitations and notification of results by post. The smears are routinely taken by the Practice Nurses.

Contraceptive Clinic

Contraceptive (coil and implant) service now available.

Pregnancy and Maternity Care

All Doctors provide maternity care, shared with the Community Midwives and Hospital Consultants

Parentcraft classes are available, please ask your midwife for information.

Post natal examinations are carried out at Westcroft House Surgery six weeks after delivery and are co-ordinated by the Practice.

Time: Ante-natal clinics are held at the Main Surgery on Thursday mornings . By appointment.

Chest Clinic

To assess the progress of patients on treatment for asthma/chronic chest problems.

Time: Appointment needed.

Diabetes Clinic

Regular assessment and review of management of patients with Diabetes.

Time: Appointment needed.

Ischaemic Heart Disease Clinic

Annual assessment for all patients with heart problems.

Time: Appointment needed.

Blood Pressure Clinic

Regular assessment of patients on blood pressure treatment.

Time: Appointment needed.

Well Persons Clinic

Counselling, general health advice, cervical smears, HRT checks, all aspects of contraception etc.

Travel Advice Clinic

Advice and vaccinations for holidays.

Minor Surgery

Minor surgery is carried out on the practice premises at Egremont. It is performed by the Doctors at the surgery by arrangement.

Learning Disabilities

Advice and support available for patients with learning disabilities.

Time: Appointment needed.

Child Care Services

Health services for children and young people are delivered by a team of Health Visitors, School Nurses and a Community Nursery Nurse who cover the South Copeland locality.

You can contact the health visiting service on 01946 820203. If, at anytime, a health visitor is unavailable, you can leave a message with Reception and a member of the team will contact you on their return.

Assessments on six week old babies are carried out at the surgery.

Family Planning & Teenage Advice

The practice offers advice on all aspects of contraception, teenage problems e.g. skin complaints, eating disorders and exam stresses. Come along for some advice. Appointments usually needed.

Physiotherapy/Chiropody Services

Available on referral from the Doctor.
