When We Are Closed
In cases of emergency, a 24 hour service is provided. During the normal working day this will be provided by our own doctors but evenings, nights and week-ends are usually covered by the CHOC / NHS Direct emergency service.
Emergency treatment centres are available at evenings and week-ends. The emergency centre for our area is currently located adjacent to A&E at West Cumberland Hospital.
Access to this is by telephoning CHOC on 03000 247 247.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Protected Learning Times.
For one afternoon per month the Surgery is closed for Training purposes.
